Burger Democracy
Wendy's is doing a small part to redeem themselves for removing the Big Bacon Classic from their menu by conducting a "Build Wendy's New Burger" contest on their website. You can vote for one of 10 finalists from around the country who submitted a list of ingredients for what they would include on their Wendy's burger. Not surprisingly, 7 of the 10 options include bacon. I personally voted for the New Teriyaki Blast Burger, which is currently in second place.
And if that isn't enough, Wendy's is also conducting a Baconater Sound Bites Contest. You can download sounds from their website that you can use to create your own love song for the Baconater.
Make sure you have the sound on your computer turned on as you're navigating the website. There is music playing in the background, including a song called the "Baconater Stomp." add this! + stumbleupon this + this is del.icio.us + digg this

Have you ever considered a survey of the fast food bacon? Or a survey of the common brands (Hormel, Oscar, etc)? Not all bacon is created equal.
I feel that McD’s, BK’s or Hardees bacon is not worth ordering. Tasteless strips of unknown rubbery (or burnt and crunchy) substance. Since the rise in the cost of food, every thing that can be cut has been.

I personally tend to eat more artisan bacon than the major brands you buy at the supermarket. But the reality is that most Americans still eat the major brands for a variety of reasons (financial, access, convenience, etc). So it's kind of hard to compare bacons - a survey might be hard to do, because there really is no question that artisinal bacons are better than the major brands! But most people don't have that experience and Oscar Mayer, Hormel, Smithfield, etc are all they know. But I'm also of the opinion that eating sub-par bacon is better than eating no bacon at all. :)
