Pure and refreshing bacon...vodka?

I'm still recovering from Bacon Fest, so booze and bacon are the last things on my mind at the moment. But perhaps this new product will make me more efficient in the future:

"Bakon Vodka: The Meat and Potatoes…We start with superior quality Idaho potatoes instead of the random mixed grains that make up most vodkas. Our vodka is column-distilled using a single heating process that doesn’t “bruise” the alcohol like the multiple heating cycles needed to make a typical pot-still vodka. No tinge or burn on the tongue, no obnoxious smoky or chemical flavors, just a clean refreshing potato vodka with delicious savory bacon flavor. Pure. Refreshing. Bacon."

Lucky for me and my liver, I live in one of the four states where it will be available starting in April 2009 (Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana).

  • Check out what we made with homemade bacon vodka:

    The Grand Slam
    ½ oz. Bacon Vodka
    ½ oz. OJ
    Splash Maple Syrup

BLTini (we did not make up this name)
    ½ oz Bacon Vodka
    ½ oz. Tomato Juice
Splash Worchester Sauce, Horseradish, Lime Juice
    Sprinkle Celery Salt, Pepper
Rim the shot glass with Bacon Salt
    Mini Celery Stalk for garnish.

    The Pulled Pork
    1/3 oz. Bacon Vodka
1/3 oz. Beer (We used PBR)
1/3 oz. Barbecue Sauce (We used Bone Sucking Sauce, I would recommend going with a flavor that is not as sweet).

    The Surf and Turf
    ½ oz Bacon Vodka
    ½ oz Chelada
