Bacon Burger Dog

An email about this video of Aaron McCargo making a bacon burger dog has been sitting in my inbox for a couple weeks now. I'm kind of regretting that I didn't watch this before the July 4th weekend because I may have chosen to prepare this as my dish for our family reunion instead of bacon wrapped tater tots...nahhhhh, I probably would have just done both! Gotta try this bacon burger dog soon - looks delicious!

  • I don't understand. If you have chopped bacon on the inside, wrapped bacon on the outside, why is the dog not slathered in baconaise?!?! That just doesn't seem right. Almost criminal. Nearly insane.

  • hee hee hee. its a horrible idea! but as long as you're only eating them on fourth of july... their coronary-packin' misery is mitigated by infrequency.

    that's why i only do deep-fried pizza once a year! :)

  • If you are afraid of clogged arteries (which I am not), then don't come to my house for any meal. I deep fry my bacon. It is, hands down, the best method for making bacon. And when you deep fry something else, it gives it a certain porcine flavor to it.

  • OMG the bacon wrapped bacon dogs look so good! I need to make them, since they're on my diet. I'm not joking. Bacon and other meats are healthy. It's the bun that's the unhealthy part of the picture.
